with Hibernate you may not to write SQL, but you must understand what it´s doing in the database if the model it´s a bit complex.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Anyway, the inertia is very important. There are thounsands people doing thing the same way. It´s difficult to change.&lt;/p&gt;
