Since I went from a rear projector to a fixed pixel display, the only thing I can think is that projectors don't have 'dot pitch' or the space between the dots to worry about. Therefore a 1080p projector should be pretty clear even up close. An update- I did end up swapping the 720p for a 1080p same size, and from 8-12 feet everyone noticed a huge difference between the displays. I stuck with the same brand (Panasonic) so semi-scientifically more pixels are better, even if you are 20' away!</p> Thanks for the comment! My screen size is 100", I usually sit around 20' away, but when I get up close on it textures seem much more defined.
