		<description>Looking at the changesets at guides.rubyonrails.org is really helpful pre-upgrade.  I agree that upgrading minimizes the number of major problems in the upgrade, but given that, I think there is such a thing as upgrading too frequently and not getting any work done.  I had an experience with that from Rails 2.2.2 to 2.3.2</description>

		<description>Ruby 1.7? As far as I know Rails can only run on Ruby 1.8.4 or higher, and all Rails apps that Pathfinder deployed that I worked on were 1.8.6 p111 or 1.8.6 p287</description>
